Welcome to the MadCap Farm web-site.  Here you will find information about riding instruction (on your horse or ours) and other services offered, including boarding and training at our facility.
MadCap is a 65 acre farm located in The Plains Virginia about and hour outside Washington DC.  Actually we are exactly 47 mile from the Capitol Building door to door and 35 minutes from the 495 Beltway around Washington.  The farm is a wonderful place, nestled in the rolling hills of Fauquier County, minutes from villages of Middleburg, The Plains, Marshall and Warrenton. These areas are wonderful places for lunch, shopping or just to spend some time to relax and enjoy the small town atmosphere that we are known for.

Please follow the pages to the left to find out more about how we can assist you in your equestrian needs.  Whether your interest is in beginner, intermediate, advanced or show ring instruction, we can help.  If you have your own horse and would like to use our wonderful rings we would love to share the farm with you.   One of our specialty areas of expertise is the diagnostic evaluation,  perhaps you have bought a horse and are now having difficulties or maybe you have been showing and not doing quite as well as you think you should be, let our professional evaluation give you some answers to get you started back on track.
Our facility has two areas for instruction.  The upper ring is a fully fenced 96' x 150' with lights and all weather footing.  All beginner lessons are started here.   Our second ring is a 200' x 300' grass arena which in the front of the property and you will see as you come in the driveway to the right. This ring is primarily for novice and intermediate lessons and where most jumping and schooling lessons are held.
We also have 12 acres of wooded trails meandering past  a wonderful old natural spring house and charming pond; a wonderful way to relax and cool down your horse when you finish your ride.
